Note 6/3/26: Rangatahi Rangers is currently at full capacity. We are looking for 1 or 2 adult volunteers to help supervise in order to increase numbers. Please get in touch if you are interested.

We are excited to share that a new group has been established specifically for youth environmentalists!  

Recognising the enthusiasm from our rangatahi to get involved in volunteering, we’ve set up a group that meets every second Sunday at Tarapuruhi. Our community generously contributes over 500 hours each month to the sanctuary and now our youth are part of this amazing effort.

This initiative is designed for teenagers; however, intermediate aged students are also welcome if they have a strong interest in our environment and volunteering.

There is no cost but a commitment to the group is required.
